Memorable Moment Arriving in Buenos Aires only weeks after the peso had been devalued four to one made it feel like we had suddenly joined a different trip. After months of cheap hotels, cold showers and rooms of questionable cleanliness, we checked into a modern chain hotel for about the same price we had been paying everywhere else. Luxury at last. We met up with a few people we had crossed paths with during the trip and discovered that great restaurants, cocktails and bottles of wine could be had for around £10–15 each. Naturally, we decided it would be rude not to take advantage of this situation. Someone suggested we visit Tierra Santa, a religious theme park where you could wander around biblical displays with a beer in your hand. An unusual combination, but an entertaining afternoon. As we left, electronic music could be heard thumping from across the road. Behind an unassuming entrance we found a huge modern dance club, looking somewhat out of place beside Jerusalem. After months of dust, mud, breakdowns, border crossings and sleeping wherever we could find a bed, Buenos Aires delivered clean sheets, steaks, cocktails and late nights. Not a bad way to finish a dirty motorbike adventure

Lowlight Argentina getting knocked out of the world cup. The locals take it extremely seriously and it would have been great to be here for at least one winning game. The place apparently goes wild. |
Road Tally 2 x Bikes: bikes got put on flights back to London. The freight forwarder charged us on weight (not volumetric weight) meaning each bike cost about $600 to fly back, and they arrived before we did. Great result |
